What is the water like around the St. Petes florida area?

  • I am going to St. Pete's beach in mid April and wanted to know how the water is like clarity, temperature and how the sand is thanks!

    Sand is nice - I have been in the water in March, April and May - sometimes really chilly sometimes not. Generally the warmer the water the less clear it is. If you are going to St. Pete Beach - be sure you try Stone Crab Claws at the Hurricane Rest.

The sand is nice. Its white powdery sand that say cool even on hot days. The water will be blue green but not crystal clear like it gets down in the keys. Its going to be a little too cool to swim yet. The people you will see in the water will most likly be Canadians. I never actually go swimming in the water till mid may and even then it can be a bit cool.

water will be maybe 70f , white sand beaches. Sand gets up to 150f at the hottest part of summer.
