How big are the Disney world parks?

How easy is it to Navigate between parks at Walt Disney World?

  • My family is taking a trip in a few months and we're going to visit all the main parks(Magic kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom and MGM aka walt disney world studios) with our main focus being on the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. We're also planing on visiting the 2 water parks in one day or maybe both over 2 days. I would appreciate any tips on how easy it is(or not lol) to go between parks. Also, should we visit both water parks or just one?? We'll be 6 miles away from the park and we're staying for a little over a week. Thanks!

I think its easy but its some times takes time. If you do more than one park a day. Take the buses to one park and to the next park, and leave you car in the parking lot at the 1st park. But if you dont do that you can drive to each park. But the first park you go to that day, you will have to pay,but if you go to another park in the same day you will not have to pay at 2nd park. Here is some of my favorite things to do at the parks...... Magic Kingdom-Do the 3 mountains,Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Laugh Floor,Its the small world, Buzz Lightyear. at 3 is a Parade,So get a spot at least 30 mins before it starts. Wishes is the fireworks,it the best I have ever seen. Epcot-Sornin, The seas with nemo and friends,Mission Space,Test Track,The countries, and Spaceship Earth. illuminationsns is the fireworks Disney's Hollywood Studios-Tower of Terror,Rock and rollercoster, the great movie ride,Toy Story Mania is a must(you might have to wait for a bit because it new but its worth it)(Or get a fastpass 1st thing),Beauty and the beast show. Animal Kingdom-Its tough to be a bug,the safari, Expeditiontion EverDinosaurosor,Finding Nemo and Lion King show. I have never been to the water parks. Its okay if you dont get to everything at the park because that means that you HAVE TO come back. I hope you have a MAGICAL Time!!!

That is a lot to do in one week. I would recommend using a planning service to help you do everything you want in the time you have. If you have a car, traveling between parks is much easier. Also, since you are staying off Disney property, a car makes sense. As far as planning services, we used Custom Mouse Plans. They were awesome! We traveled during the holidays and we were so worried about long lines. With the plans they created, we never waited more than 15 minutes for any ride! We did all of the big rides, usually more than once. You may want to check them out.

You will need to pay for parking at each park. Travel time can be up to half an hour between parks. The place is huge.. Everything is marked well.

If you are not staying on Disney property then you will have to drive between parks which will take some time. The Disney "highway" is well marked and you will have no problems finding where you are going. The parks are spread out throughout the property, but I don't think you will fight too much traffic. If you are park hopping between several parks on ONE day you will find it takes alot of time so I don't recommend it. The water parks are great and a visit to both would be well worth your time and money.

We used Custom Mouse Plans too! They were great. They planned our trip so that we could do everything we wanted and then some! I also recommend them!

Some suggestions: Get park hopper passes, they are really worth it, if you have never been, and are not sure how well you will like each park. If you haven't booked your stay off Disney property, think about staying at a Disney resort. The hotel might be more expensive, but you get free transportation, extra time in the parks, and you can include a meal plan with your ticket, that really saves you money. Don't forget to look up some of Disney's most popular dining locations, and make your reservation today. Sounds silly to book dining so early, but you will find that it is VERY difficult to get reservations at their top locations, AND that will determine what park you are in on which day. Have fun, and be sure to catch Wishes, and Fantasmic.

I've only been to disneyland, but from what I've heard you need to take like a shuttle or something, and I think it takes about 10 minutes to travel between parks. So I think it would be fairly easy to get between parks, I mean they're not gonna put all these parks together and make it a big deal to get from one to another lol. But I think it's not like disneyland where you can easily walk anywhere in the park, or to california adventure. Have fun!

The water parks are both very different. Blizzard Beach has more intense rides, which in my opinion were too intense and I couldn't even enjoy them. It was also very hard to navigate and find the beginning of the lines there. Also, for each ride you had to either hike up 100+ plus stairs to get to the start of the line or wait 30 minutes to take a slow ski lift thing up the hill each time you wanted to go on a different ride. Typhoon Lagoon was more layed back and they had an awesome thing where you could snorkel with small, little sharks. They also have a new roller coaster type water ride which was really fun and an amazing wave pool so I definitley recommend Typhoon Lagoon and not Blizzard Beach. As for navigating between Magic Kingdom and Epcot, you can just use the monorail system. It's free and it will take you to and from the parks without having to drive or worry about the hassle of traveling back and fourth.

If you have a car it is no problem at all. You pay your money to park, (I think it is $12 for the day) and then you can use the same parking pass in the different lots. Just follow the signs. If you want to do MK and Epcot in the same day, it can be fun to take the MONORAIL over. Then you just have to take it back so it will add a little exit time at the end of the day. If you have your car anyway, stay away from the buses. No need to wait on them. It is all good, no sweat. Have fun.

It is very easy to go between Magic Kingdom and Epcot as they are connected by the monorail. For traveling between the rest of the parks you can use the disney buses but it takes a long time to go round each park, I never do 2 of the main parks in 1 day because there is so much to see in each. I have never been to any of the water parks but I plan to go to Typhoon Lagoon when we are back at Disney in June. I hope you have a great trip!
