What are colleges/universities offering journalism degrees in New York City?

Should i move to new york city to major in broadcast journalism?

  • Ok so i plan on majoring in broadcast journalism but i don't know if new york city is the right city for this major, i'm really interested in becoming a news anchor or maybe have my own radio talk show...so what do you think should i go to new york city for this??? By the way i would attend Fordham University...i also plan on doing as many internships as i can and i plan on being on the jets cheerleading team (maybe those things will help in my career)

"Real Life" Answer: New York might just be the worst place on planet Earth to try and find and get work in broadcast journalism. Most people who try end up like bugs on a windshield of a tanker truck or worse. It is expensive to go to college anywhere, but New York City is the worst.

No! This is coming from a person who did major in journalism. If you can get a job with the degree, it will pay VERY little and having the loans of not only going to an out of state school but also just the cost of living for NYC, will cripple you for decades once you graduate. BELIEVE ME, I also lived in Brooklyn and worked/interned in the city. Save your money now so you can do creative things with your life later on instead of being forced to slave away paying off loans. :(
