How much money should I take to Ethiopia?

How much money should I take on a shopping trip to NY?

  • i'm going to new york for 5nights, how much money should i take? -I DONT need money for hotel(already paid for) -I DONT need money for flights(already paid for) so i only need money to shop&for food&for entertainment? i will be shopping in places like DKNY, Bloomingdales, Victoria's secret, Sephora, Guess, Prada, Michael Kors and places like that..but i will also be shopping in places like Forever 21, Aeropostale, Juicy Couture, etc.. I am 14 and from London, I will need money for lunch and dinner, and I will need money for a theatre thing/musical and for any sightseeing things, we probably won't do any, only the statue of liberty.. also, how much on average is a meal and a drink? how much is a taxi? (we will only be in Manhattan) where can I get a birthday cake from in Manhattan (a small one as there is only 2 of us) What streets are best for shopping? what are some good restraunts? etc etc.. by the way, i am going with my cousin, her birthday is whilst we are out there (near Christmas) & my mum is paying for flights and hotel for my christmas present and i'm getting other stuff, so i have to pay for everything whilst we are out there, not for my cousin though.. but on her birthday i will pay for her meals and take her to a musical and buy her a cake :') and just if you're wondering she is going to be 20, so i'm not going with another 14 year old haha thanks xx

  • Answer:

If you plan on shopping in those stores, bring plenty of cash. Meals and cabs are also pricey. A Broadway musical is VERY pricey and it will be nearly impossible to get tickets for the most popular ones at Christmas time. You can easily spend $100 a day just for meals. Save money by taking the subway/buses [the MTA website is very helpful on this, as are all the travel guidebooks]. You can find reviews by customers for restaurants at various websites, including TripAdvisor.com. You might want to check their forums, too, for info. Frankly, I can't imagine sending a 14-year-old off on her own to NYC for a shopping trip. [Yes, I know you said you're going with your older cousin, but, has she ever been to NYC before?]
