What's a good dinner place for Thanksgiving in NY?

Vacations ideas for Thanksgiving weekend 2011?

  • My boyfriend and I live in Long Island, NY. We would like to spend Thursday with our families for Thanksgiving dinner and then go away together Friday - Sunday. We'd prefer some kind of all-inclusive (or mostly inclusive) resort type place that's not too far of a drive (NY, PA, CT, etc). I was thinking a bed and breakfast but I'm worried we would be bored. We once stayed at Pocono Palace in PA which is like a romantic weekend resort place which we liked but we wanted to try somewhere different. We'd like to spend up to $200/night. If anyone has any suggestions, it would really be appreciated. Thanks :)

    I would have suggested sky top lodge but on a holiday weekend it is going to be out of your budget range although prices includes all meals and most activities on their 5000 acre property. I am not sure there is any all inclusive that can meet that price range on a holiday weekend

Angola Beach, It's a half hour drive down route 5, but well worth the trip. Head across into canada if you have the Identification to do so. They have beaches and they are closer. The buffalo Zoo is good. They have a baby gorilla right now. The only other zoo I know about that has one is London, it's about 1 year old, but you'd never know by how small it is. They also have a baby giraffe not more than 6 months old. You can save money by buying tickets in advance (New York Pass, admissions, tours, landmarks, buildings, etc.) before you arrive. There are also many free things to do in New York City like museums and street fairs, plus in May there are also free outdoor movies (Bryant Park) and concerts at several locations like the Pier and Central Park..
