Going to NYC on July 4th, need ideas for clubbing hot spots?

I've never been to a gay club but I've probably gone to every single 18+ club in NYC =) 2/3 of the clubs in NYC only allow 21+ but every once in a while, they'll be lenient and let 18+ depending on how filled up the club is. 1/3 of the clubs allow 18+ and most are pretty hip (: I've been to a bunch and the only ones I can think of worth going to are: club new york downtime exit limelight sound factory the tunnel webster hall wetlands club pacha halcyon tonic the tunnel lion's den speed cielo love the 40/40 club sullivan room hiro ballroom providence These are night/dance clubs or lounges that either have a house DJ or live music =] If you're not looking to dance and just want to mingle and drink, maybe try one of the more upscale bars in upper east side. Most of the ones I listed have cover charges but the most it'll go up to is $30. (Average cover charge is like $10-20) The bouncers are sometimes harsh. If you're not female or goodlooking then be prepared to wait in line for at least 40 minutes to get in. Since its NYC, they ALWAYS pat you down before entering the club (even girls) sometimes they even take your gum -_- You always need 2 forms of I.D. There is always a dress code. You can never come to a club (among the ones I've listed) dressed in either sneakers, hoodies, or jeans. NEVER. Also, Try to sign up on a club's website (if they offer it) in advance to get alerts, etc. Sometimes it can get you in for free or you can find out about certain VIP parties ;] I've heard that RUSH is a really good gay nightclub from some of my friends (: Lots of cute guys. But I'm too sure if they're still open.. :/ Have fun~
