How to get to Staten Island Mall from Manhattan?

  • Hello! Can anyone tell me how do I get to Staten Island Mall, from the Latham Hotel ( 4East, 28th Street)in Manhattan?

  • Answer:

Sure. Option 1: Via Subway R/W line. Walk to 23rd St/5th Av-Broadway and take downtown R, weekday (W) to Whitehall St. Exit and South Ferry Terminal will be on your right across Whitehall St. Take free Staten Island Ferry. At St. George, transfer to Staten Island Railway to Eltngivlle Station for SS59, S79, S89 LTD. Please note S89 LTD stops on back of Staten Island Mall on Marsh Av. You may also take on (R) to 86th St-4th Av for S79 Staten Island Mall, well as weekend N to 59th St for (R) train. Lots of people prefer to take downtown (6) train on Park Av/23rd St and to 14th St, then transfer to Brooklyn-bound (4) or (5) train to Bowling Green and walk up to Staten Island Ferry Terminal.

My friend, from 4 East 28th Street, walk west to Broadway and West 28th Street. Step 1: take the downtown (southbound) "R" or "W" subway lines (Yellow Line) from 28th Street to Whitehall Street - South Ferry. The fare on the subway is $2 each way. Step 2: at South Ferry, hop on the Staten Island Ferry to Staten Island. The ferry is free. Step 3: once on Staten Island, transfer to either the S44, 61, 91 or 94 bus lines from the St. George Ferry Terminal to the Staten Island Mall. I hope this information is very helpful. Good luck.
