Were there ever transatlantic flights into LaGuardia Airport?

I am planning a trip to New York this summer. Would you recommend LaGuardia Airport?

I have never been to New York and do not know the best place to fly to. My local airport has direct flights to LaGuardia. Would you recommend it? What are places to visit near by?

Laguardia is easily the best airport. It is closest to Manhattan, if you are taking mass transit there is a bus which takes you into quickly into Manhattan near the subway. JFK has good mass transit as well, but it will take you well over an hour to get into Manhattan. Newark is horrible, not convenient to the city at all.

laG. is okay. Nothing but car rental places are nearby any airport really, so make sure you rent a car or use the bus system to get into the city for fun or take advantage of the subways. NYC is a great place and there will be plenty to do once you get away from the airports.

Recommend it for what? It's an airport, not a resort, and, like ALL airports, you fly in, you pass through it, you get in a cab and you leave, that's all there is to it, there's nothing to "recommend" at all, really. You're over-thinking this, it's JUST an airport, don't worry about it. Good luck!... :-D
