Is there such thing as a junior Olympics?

Would it be a good thing to have the 2020 Olympics in New York?

  • I'm thinking of the Chicagoans who were recently in the news in not wanting the Olympics in their town. Plus I wonder what travel and transportation effects would result if NYC won a bid for the 2020 games.

  • Answer:

No it would not. We tried for the olympic bid for 2012 and it was a bust. While it may have sounded fun to many New Yorkers, I thought it was a crazy idea back when Bloomberg was pushing it. It would have been a logistical nightmare. I'm just as glad it didn't happen!

No. I was happy when NYC lost its bid for the 2012 games. Can you name a city that has come out ahead by hosting the Olympics? Mountains of money are spent on facilities that never earn any money when the games are over. Besides, the City grinds to a halt every time the UN has its general assembly or any other major event comes to town, can you imagine 2 weeks of that nonsense?

No, not unless you want a huge bombing to occur.
