Will I get into Rutgers University?

Is there any way to get from NYC to Rutgers University for the ball game, without a car?

  • In NYC on vacation and would love to go to an NCAA football game. Seen that Rutgers are playing and that its not that far from Manhattan, but cant seem to find a way to get there without a car. Any ideas?

    The Rutgers Football Stadium is on the Bush Campus in Piscataway. You could take NJ transit to the New Brunswick train station. There is a intra-campus bus system between the Douglass, College Ave, Bush and Livingston campuses. The NJ transit station is between the Douglass and College Ave. campuses.

There are 3 campuses: Newark, New Brunswick, and Camden, and that is how they're ranked as far as getting to NYC. To Newark: Take the Morris & Essex or Monclair-Bontoon Line to Newark Broad Street station, and then take a 5-10 minute walk down University Avenue to the campus. The fare is $5. To New Brunswick: Take the NJT Northeast Corridor Line to New Brunswick. The fare is $13, and the campus is on the northern side of the station. To Camden: Take the NJT Northeast Corridor Line to Trenton. From there, take the RiverLine to Cooper Street/Rutgers University. The fare is $15.50 for the NJT Northeast Corridor Line, and $1.50 for the RiverLine, for a total of $17. For the RiverLine, remember to buy the ticket before boarding the train, in case an inspector comes onboard. I hope this information was very helpful.
