I need road traffic guidance, JFK airport to Hofstra University.?

• Hi guys, I'm gonna make this easy: I need some guidance from JFK airport, NY to Hofstra University. I already searched the route on Google map the answer is this: JFK - JAMAICA lightrail JAMAICA - HEMPSTEAD train HEMPSTEAD - DESTINATION by bus Now can somebody tell me how I'm suppose to pay for the tickets? Is there any One-Ticket-Pass or Do I have to buy every ticket at the stations or terminals? How about the prices? Looking for your answers guys.

  For the AirTrain to Jamaica, you pay with MetroCard, which you buy before you exit the AirTrain terminal at Jamaica. The AirTrain costs $5 per ride. For the LIRR to Hempstead, you buy your LIRR ticket at a ticket vending machine at Jamaica station. Your fare will be either peak or off-peak depending on time of day. Check the station information board or ask an MTA employee if you're not sure. If it's Saturday or Sunday, it's off-peak at all times. For the bus to Hofstra, you can pay with the same MetroCard that you used for the AirTrain, just make sure you have enough fare on the card to pay for both the AirTrain and the bus. The bus fare is $2.25, so if your MetroCard has at least $7.25 on it, you're OK for both the AirTrain and the bus. You can also pay with coins - buses accept 5-cent, 10-cent, 25-cent, and 1-dollar coins. They do not accept 1-cent and 50-cent coins. If you purchase an $8 MetroCard or more, you'll get a 15% bonus added to your card. Pay $10, and you get a MetroCard valued at $11.50. It does often leave you with odd amounts of remaining fare.
