Which city is better: Chicago or New York?

I live in Chicago, but I don't live IN the city, I live in the suburbs. I think its really exciting going in the city, but I heard that Chicago and New York City are completely different. My uncle has been to New York City and he says that Chicago is way more modern than new york. he says he likes it here than NYC. I personally want to go up there and see it for myself, but I guess I don't have the money yet :p I just want your guys's opinion on what city you think is best(:

Chicago is better because it is illegal to honk so it isnt pathetically annoying like New York! Im a small town kinda guy haha :)

nyc is the crown jewel of the united states and is the best city in the world. Im a bit bias since i was born and raised in nyc lol. But yeah, NYC is an amazing place, and modern? lol? NYC is about as modern as it gets

I've never been to New York, but recently I took a trip to Chicago and I must say I love it. It's awesome. But I guess, you could try going to NYC and deciding for yourself. Try Chi-town first since you're closer. And if you ever do, don't forget to hit Millenium Park and see the badass stainless steel bean:))

NYC is nice, but can be annoying because of traffic. Its alot more busy and dirtier than Chicago.
