Columbia university summer program?

New York City Summer highschool Program for Theare-- NYU or Columbia?

• Hey guys I live in Singapore and I'm applying for the summer theatr/acting programs in NYU and Columbia (and UCLA as well but this question is for the east coast people). I'm going to apply to both, but say, in the odd chance that I actually get into both...which is HIGHLY unlikely hahahah cuz theyre both ridiculously hard to get into...but lets say that in a world where good things happened to me...I did..:P Hahhaa...which one would you guys reccomend I go to? Cuz I mean the Tisch school is amazing. I mean come on...its NYU!! And it would be a huge priviledge to go there, and would look really good on my college apps as well (wanna do theatre for uni). But then again, Columbia, is an ivy league school! Thisll also have amazing opportunites! SO I really don't knowwwww. And the thing is, if any of you have been to either of these programs....like which one will actually permit time to SEE New York as well? Are they both extremely demanding courses (which I know they are) but like.......Apparently NYU is so rigirious that you have no time out in weekends to explore new york...see broadway shows (which is my dream), etcetc. What about Columbia? I honestly dont know. It would be amazing to get into EITHER one but just wanted to hear your thoughts as well. Thanks guys! x

  NYU has the advantage of being further downtown and closer to the action (more things to do in Greenwich Village and the general area, though Columbia has some decent stuff going on as well). However, I'd say Columbia is the better school, but that's my personal opinion. I hope this information was very helpful.
