Airport body scanners : but what about body cavities ?

  • It seems the authorities are rushing to install expensive body scanners at airports, but surely it is a complete waste of time and money because everyone has a rectum and women have a vagina, in which they could store and hide explosives. I imagine ways could be found to detonate them during the flight.

    Wherever there is a will there is a way. As I understand them the body scanners are far more sophisticated than you give them credit for. Any one who wishes to stick things up their bum or swallow it or whatever will do so. All we can do is support the security forces by cooperating and being ready for our inspection. If they suspect you might be concealing something, like a stick of dynamite up your bum which is going to make you walk funny never mind bring tears to your eyes and they will be watching for you. No system will ever be perfect but the scanners will be an improvement on the useless metal detectors. Certainly the Nigerian bloke would have been spotted immediately.

You are right. No matter how much money we throw at the problem, and no matter how mcuh freedom and dignity we're willing to give up, the crooks will always be able to outsmart the government. The new scanners can allegedly see you naked even though you are wearing clothes so anything in any orifice it shouldn't be will show up
