  After getting off the plane follows the signs to the Airtrain. Take the airtrain to Newark international train station. At the train station take an NJ Transit or Amtrak train to New York Penn Station. Look for the 7th avenue exit (this exit puts you right in front of Madison Square Garden). This exit is a bit farther away from Amtrak's main waiting area, but if your visitor arrives at night, the eighth avenue exit could be imtimidating (some unsavory characters at night). You could meet the Visitor right in front of the Garden.
