Where can I find information regarding public transportation in and between New Jersey and New York?

• I am planning to move to Ivy Hill, New Jersey. I was wondering how I can find out about the bus lines and how to get from NJ to NY easily and without spending a lot of money. I am looking for schedules, maps, routes, etc. What I have found already isn't very helpful. Any help?
