What to wear to the Broadway show: dress up or casual?

Can someone tell me what most people wear on a New York Broadway Show?

  • It's a NIGHT show. I was wondering if I can just wear jeans, a top , and a blazer, and some high heels shoes? Or do I need to dress up? Like Skirt, or a black dress, etc. etc.?

    The dress code for where you're eating before or after the show is what's key. You won't look at all out of place in jeans at the theatre. In fact, some people would tell you that you can tell the tourists by how dressed up they are for a show.

you can wear whatever you want....just dont look sloppy. There is no dresscode just make an effort to not look like a bum

Actually you will see the full gammut of outfits, personally I always go in business casual type outfits since I hate dressing up, it puts me in the middle of the range of outfits.

It wasn't too long ago that people put on a jacket and tie or a dress for a Broadway show, but now, people show up in shorts and t-shirts. You'll be fine with the bazer and jeans.

wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. not all people dress up. wear something that u feel good in.
