How do I take a bus from NJ to NY?

I've never taken a bus by myself for long distances before and I have no clue what I'm doing. I need to find bus tickets from NJ to NY on Wednesday, the 21st, and come back the next Sunday which would be the 25th. I will update this question with more details on the from/to locations once I get them, but any help in the meantime would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Get yourself to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. The 319 Bus from Atlantic City comes to Bus Terminal in NYC. A friend can drop you near the NJ Transit 319 Bus route or cab. From NYC, take a relaxing ride by Short Line to Ithaca, NY. Unfortunately, my friend, you will need to either drive or arrange for someone to drive you from Medford, NJ to Philadelphia's 30th Street Station and then take Greyhound from there to Ithaca or Syracuse, NY. There is no bus or rail service from Medford to either Philly and NYC. Medford is only 20 miles east of Philly, which means you can get there in about 30 minutes. Purchasing a tickets for the bus at Philly-30th Street station is very easy. Just show up to the ticket window for Greyhound and purchase you ticket. You can purchase either a one way or a round trip ticket. By the way, a one way ticket from Philly to Ithaca or Syracuse will cost you around $80. Good luck Native New Yorker
