How to get to JFK Airport early on New Years Day from Rockefeller Centre?

  • My wife and i are going to New York on 23rd December untill 1st January, and staying near Rockefeller Centre and was wondering how to get there from JFK airport at approx 10.00pm, on 23rd December. We are flying back on 1st January early morning around 8.30am (Need to be at airport 6.15am). What is the best and cost effective way to get there, bearing in mind it is New Years Day? Any tips are most welcome. Really looking forward to it!!

    Taxi would be the most comfortable, but also the most expensive. A much cheaper option would be to take a train. From your terminal take a Jamaica bound AirTrain. Change at Jamaica to the Subway. Take a Manhattan/Chambers Street Bound E train to 5th Avenue/53rd street which is very close to Rockefeller Center. That would be $7 ($5 air train, $2 subway) and taxis I believe are close to $50.

My friend, the best way to get to and from you hotel near Rockefeller Center will be by taxi. There is a flat fee of $45 from JFK to anywhere in Midtown Manhattan, included Rockefeller Center. Hi! Take the taxi from the airport to your hotel. JFK is far, so I don't know how much that will be. There is a train but you're landing late and will want to hurry up and get into the city! Going back, arrange for a car service. It costs the same as the taxi, will definitely be there on time (even that early on a holiday), and is cash only. The hotel can arrange it for you. Have fun!
