Help....i need people you've been to New York City or peopel who live there....?

My teacher gave us postcards from NYC...well first of all i live in NY and i ve been to NYC but i need more....alot more....we are to describe all the stores we've been to where and why...but i dont remember the names...she said we can make it up...but obviously the stores need to be real...lol..so can you tell me places youve been to and tell me why.....also i need to make an essay about it but how should i start it...any ideas..i'd really appreciate it :)

talk about time square. how its the city that never sleeps, all the lights. in time square theres the MTV building, the hard rock cafe, the ripleys museum, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, that big soup can thing! hah i love that!
