What is the Roosevelt hotel in NY really like??? ?

I'm booked in to stay at the roosevelt hotel in New York in March, I have been reading vert mixed reviews about the hotel. Is this hotel such an awful place to stay at, are there really cockroaches in the room & is the staff awfully rude??? Please, if anyone has stayed here, worked here or know's anybody who has stayed etc etc in this hotel, what is your opinion...

Read reviews for ANY hotel and you'll find negative experiences. People rarely review good experiences, but for bad experiences they can't wait to run to the computer and tell the world.

It is a magnificent old structure, named for Teddy, not FDR. Lots of older fancy fixings. I suppose there could be a rude person working there, but I find if you are pleasant, people do not respond rudely. Happy to say I never saw a roach, but i haven't been there in recent years
