How to get to Manchester, New Hampshire to New York City by bus or the cheapest way?

• My girlfriend is going to college at New Hampshire Institute or Art and I go to college in New York City and we need a way to meet. We both are edger to see each other but we are college students and we have little to spend so I'm wondering if anyone can help us out with a cheap and easy way to get to each other. I've looked into to plane tickets and they are pretty straight forward but expensive, and I was thinking maybe I can take a bus to Boston and take their public transportation to Manchester. This is for me to get to her but it will really help if you can give direction from Manchester to New York City so she can come visit me too. Thank you
