Are there any attractions open tomorrow at Coney Island, NY?

Can anyone give me the subway route from Amtrak's Penn station to Coney Island NY? 1st time on subway ^-^

  • In a few weeks I'm going to New York by train, and will be arriving at Penn station via Amtrak. I've never been to NY before, and I'm trying to go surprise someone who lives in Coney Island. Well, Seagate, to be more exact. I would be so grateful if anyone who is experienced with the subway could offer clear directions for using it. I don't have any idea what trains I will need to get on or anything, or where to switch if I need to. Anything helpful will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance to anyone who reads this and helps.

My friend, from Penn Station, take the downtown (southbound) "A", "C" or "E" trains (Blue Line) to West 4th Street. Once at West 4th Street, go downstairs and transfer to the Brooklyn-bound "D" train (Orange Line). Take the "D" train from West 4th Street all the way to Stillwell Avenue-Coney Island When you get to Stillwell Avenue-Coney Island, transfer to B-11 bus going to Seagate. The bus should leave you at the corner of Neptune Avenue and West 37th Street. The fare on the subway is $2 one way. I hope this information is very helpful. Good luck and happy travels. Once you get off the subway at Coney Island there's still a significant walk until you're in the gated community of Seagate. Will someone be picking you up in Coney Island or will you be taking a bus the rest of the way? I ask because Coney Island has some very rough areas, and it wouldn't be a safe walk.

take the A C or E train from Penn Station, going Downtown at West 4th Street, go downstairs for the D Q or F train, all go to Coney Island (get a Window Seat on the D Q or F train, as part of the line is Elevated. The D and Q go over the Manhattan Bridge, so you see the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Skyline OR the Williamsburgh Bridge, Queens, and Greenpoint Brooklyn.... The F Train between Carroll Street and Smith 9th Street offers a view of the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Waterfront on one side and the Gowanus Canal and Downtown Brooklyn on the other side. Smith 9 Street is the highest above ground subway stop in all NYC. All 3 trains go back outside again, and you can see the rides at Coney Island before you get there.) Enjoy the trip -laura s
