From Staten Island Mall to Brooklyn is only served by S79 bus, S79 bus only serves Bay Ridge section in Brooklyn. Depends where in Brooklyn you live, you need to connect to another bus or subway to reach your destination.

The cheapskate way is to go out the back of the school, and then take the S61/S91 bus to the SI Mall. If you get your shopping done within 2 hours (technically 2 hours and 18 minutes), you can get a free transfer to the S79 to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. You could take the S62/S92 over to Richmond Avenue and then take the S44/S59/S94/S89, but the thing is that it's an extra transfer, which adds unreliability to your trip, so it's only faster if the transfer lines up correctly. It depends which side of CSI you're on and if you can time yourself for a specific bus (for instance, if you're at the southern end and see an S61 comes in 10 minutes, just go for that, and vice versa for the northern end and the S62) I hope this information was very helpful.
