How long does it take in car from Philadelphia international airport to New York City?

    Don't drive to New York City. A car is going to be more of a headache than an assistance. Its going to cost a bunch to park it in a garage, traffic is a horror and public transport in NY is easy. Unless you plan to visit the suburbs of NYC, Long Island,"Upstate"(North of the city) you aren't going to need it. Take SEPTA from Philly to Penn Station NY. When in Philly,go to 10th and Passyunk and get one Genos and one Pats cheese steak and join the controversy. (It's a no lose proposition).

My friend, the 102 mile (164 km) trip from Philly Airport to NYC will take about 2 hours each way by car. However, why drive to NYC when you can take the train, which is faster, instead. From Philly Airport, you take SEPTA's Airport Line to 30th Street Station, where a connection can be made to Amtrak to New York Penn Station. The trip from the airport to New York City will take around an hour and 30 minutes with a change of trains at 30th Street Station. The one way fare on the Airport Line, which is a commuter line, will cost you $6.25. The one way fare on Amtrak from 30th Street in Downtown Philly to New York Penn Station will cost you between $50 and $100, depending on the train you're taking.
