What are good places to visit in New York?
-
I'm going to New York with my dad (I'm 14) in about a month or so. We're staying in the Grand Hyatt on 42nd street and I'm really excited. We're going to be there for about 3 days and 3 nights, so what should we do while we're there? I'd like to mix the kind of stuff we do, so a mix of historical sites, more artsy places, good food places, shopping, and just cool places in general. Anyway, we'd like to stay busy and be up and moving since we aren't there that long. We might go and see a Knicks game too (Linsanity) so if you have any suggestions, that would be great:) Here are some places I'm considering so far: Statue of Liberty Bloomingdale's World Trade Center Knicks Game Times Square Grand Central Central Park Barney's New York etc. Thanks for your help!

Add the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim to your list, see what's happening at the Lincoln Center, try to catch a Broadway show, check out the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, and try to get tickets for the David Letterman Show just in case tickets for the Knicks don't materialize. Everybody and their brother is trying to get Knicks tickets right now so you may be able to just stroll into the Ed Sullivan Theater and see a great show for free. Don't forget the NY Rangers. They may be the best team in the NHL this season. If you're in the mood for laughs, try any number of great comedy spots like Gotham City Comedy and others across the city. And if you and your Dad like jazz go down to Bleeker Street and catch a great live show. Try the Chelsea Piers if you and your Dad want to have an easy workout driving golf balls. Above all have fun. You cannot possibly see everything worth seeing in NYC in one trip, so don't stress out. The only real solution is to keep going back to visit NYC over your lifetime. Take care.

My friend, first of all, the Grand Hyatt is located smack in the middle of Midtown, Manhattan, right next door the world famous Grand Central Terminal. Therefore, you're near the UN, Tutor Village the News Building and the New York Public Library's Main Branch. Now, with that said, there are a lot of places to go and see in New York City. Therefore, may I recommend the blog post at the link below, which has a small list of the top attractions in the city.
