Is there a bus service between Allentown, PA and Washington, DC?

What is the cheapest bus service between Washington DC and NYC?

  • Inter-city bus prices have been going up a lot in the past few years, and usually I take Megabus because they almost always have the lowest rates (even if their service isn't great) but for my next trip, Megabus isn't an option. I know that Bolt has gotten pricey, and even some of the Chinatown bus lines have increased in rate (I'm a grad student, so $45+ for a bus trip to NY is a lot for me right now). Does anyone know of any under-the-radar bus services whose round trip rates are less than $40?

My friend, you can take Megabus from the Port Authority Bus Terminal to Union Station in Washington, DC for $25 to $30 one way. The trip from the Big Apple to the Nation's Capital take around 4 hours each way. Buses bound for Washington, DC depart from West 41st Street between Eight and Ninth Avenues. One caution: the under-the-radar services might be dangerous. If they can offer super-discount tickets, they are likely scrimping somewhere, such as on bus maintenance and salary for their drivers. At least the bigger companies, operating in the full light, have to maintain basic standards.
