Drive from Philadelphia to New Jersey how to avoid traffic?

What is the best way to drop off a rental car in or near Manhattan?

• My original plan was to drop the car off in Jersey City and then take the PATH to 33rd street. We are driving from Philadelphia through NJ to NYC. However I looked at the reviews for all the rental car drop off points in Jersey City and Hoboken and none of them seem all that good (Options were -> Budget Rent a car - 181 1st street, Jersey City, NJ; Enterprise Rent a car - 112 River Street, Hoboken, NJ; Dollar Rent a car - 48 Mall Drive West, Jersey City, NJ; Hertz Rent a car - 135 Greene Street, Jersey City, NJ; Avis Rent a car - Newport Centre Mall, 30 W Mall Drive, Jersey City, NJ). I don't really want to drive into Manhattan in my rental car due to the horrible traffic. Will Jersey City be better? Is there another alternative location which allows us to drop off the car and then take the train? We are tourists coming from Australia. Thanks for the answers in advance!

  If you drop your car off at Budget Rent a Car or Avis Rent a Car, you can get the train to go into Manhattan right there. Both of those rental services are in a garage that connects to a mall. After you drop the cars off, all you have to do is walk through the mall and follow the signs for the PATH. The PATH is a train service that will bring you directly into Manhattan.
