What is a good cheap hotel around Broadway?

Where can I get a cheap hotel in mahattan around broadway?

  • that safe for a 58 year old women travelling along

  • Answer:

My family and I visited NYC during the summer and we stayed in the Radisson Hotel on Lexington and 48th St. Although it is a couple of blocks away from Broadway, it is in an excellent location. We paid about $150 a night with tax which is very cheap compared to other hotels in the area who charge at least $200 a night without taxes.

Broadway is a very long street. If you're thinking lower Manhattan, there's a Holiday Inn that's near China Town. It's not too far off of Broadway (maybe 4-5 blocks). If you want to be in Mid-town, then I don't know - they're all pricey. You might want to consider staying at the Hyatt in Jersey City and taking the Path Train into Manhattan (about a 2 minute ride). The path train (which is right outside the hotel) will hook you up with the subway system. The subway in NYC will literally take you anywhere you want to go (and pretty fast too), and I don't think it will be a safety concern as long as you don't get lost.
