How crazy living in New York City really is?

How is living in New York city like for a teenager ?

  • I live in south florida right now, and the economy sucks. My dad's being offered a job in New York that'll pay twice as much, but he says its my choice if I wanna move. Like I love it here in the sense of I know everything and I've lived here all my life and I have friends, but other than that it sucks BIG TIME. Can anyone elaborate on how living in the city would be like ? How are the schools etc.. ? I'd be going into 9th grade.

    The people who grew up here hate it? I'm born and bred in the city, and I love it, as does everyone else I know that grew up here. It's a while since I was a teenager, but even so. It's really not that different than other places, I would imagine. High school is horrible, as it is everywhere :p But yeah, you'll always have things to do, and there's a ton of great parties :) It's hard to say without knowing what you are interested in though, feel free to click my profile and send an e-mail and I'll try to answer more :) I'm sure you'd like it here at least :)

I LOVE IT. And if you go to a public high school, it might not be that great. Your family will have more money. But NYC economy also sucks. But getting better, I think. Anyway, I go to a private school in Upper East Side Manhattan so it's pretty great. The school is good, pricey tuition, but that's it. Everyone's nice and all. But during breaks there are TONS of tourists. [: You'll make new friends, but it's sort of sad if you leave them all. Soo yeah. Good luck! <3

I am in 9th grade too. Any way, New York City is amazing, trust me!! U will like it a lot and every thing is just amazing there. U r so lucky! But be careful it is always cold from October-April there. Good luck!

It's amazing. & trust me, you'll make new friends in like a day. you won't regret it.=D if you are a dancer you should really try out for laguardia (an artsy school) It's great. The education is not too shabby either.

well the people who were born and raised here hate it but I love it i came at 19. Everything is here to do, just sucks about it does get cold in winter unlike florida.

it's not as great as living in the Big apple as it seems. too many weird people, poor people, and tourists already.
