Can I get into Tulane University?

How long does it take, in public transportation, to get from Algiers Point to Tulane University?

  • Algiers Point and Tulane University are in New Orleans. I am a student there and would like to take the ferry across the Mississippi and the electric cart down St Charles, but don't know the approximate time the commute would take.

  • Answer:

I would say 15 minutes to board the ferry, cross the river, and deboard. Then 5 min to St Charles, but it only takes about 30 minutes to get to Tulane from there on the streetcar. Don't forget you can also take the Freret St bus. Check the NORTA website

Other answers

The ferry takes about 10 minutes to cross the river and it is a 5 minute walk from the landing to Saint Charles Avenue. The streetcar takes about 45 minutes to get from Canal Street to in front of Tulane University. The total time depends on how long you have to wait for the ferry and streetcar.
