Gettysburg is more somber and real, if a bit spooky. I dont think the same level of fun/enjoyment can be had there, sine it is such a poignant place. New Orleans on the other hand- tons of fun, extremely creepy at places/times, very interesting architecture, different culture and cuisine. From Creole to Cajun, its a like a steamboat of fun smothered in crawfish and alligator with a side of grits :) I loved visiting New Orleans French quarter and the upstate bayous - and they have all kinds of creepy "haunted" tours that will give you goosebumps : )
