What was it like during Hurricane Hazel?

What was your hurricane Katrina/Rita experience like? R u ready 4 this hurricane season?

    hurricane rita hit us directly. our small town did not provide for special needs evacuation & we rode out the storm at home with 2 elderly women. 2 trees hit the house ( large, custom built , brick built to last) and lifted the house from foundation more than once. we had 20 trees down in the yard, 6 trees totally blocking the driveway. we called the Hardin County Sheriff's dept for help and were told we were on our own. we cut enough of a path to get out (but scratched the fool out of the paint job) but could not leave for 3 days. a cousin came from houston with food and water and took the old ladies back with them. we then were able to go north to other family. it was 2 weeks before our power was restored and we were lucky to get it then. some didn't have power for 6 weeks. we personally are ready but many others still have damged houses and i know of one family who lives in a tent now.

i was raced in the states and now i live in germany but all my loved ones live in FL so i´m really scared and since i experienced lotsa hurricanes there i know wat it feels like but i´m so glad i haven´t been there when those 2 hit! my friends r prepaired but with every hurricane their plan of movin somewhere else grows and i can understand!

Hi,,,, well,,, it reminded me of Hurricane Camiell from 1969.....lots of wind,,rain, thunder.. you know,,, the usual stuff you get in a hurricane....trees falling ,, no electricity...for months..no water.. no food..... almost like a war zone... What a Hoot !!!

kartina and rita sucked. lots and lots of damage. my uncles brother was stuck on his roof or his sister was missing... something like that. im not ready. it was the scariest thing i've ever experienced.
