When is spring break over?

When is it spring break 2009 in Miami?

  • We'll be visiting Miami as part of our US holiday in March/April 2009, and don't want to be a part of Spring break. As I am from Australia I have no idea when the college kids have their spring break in the US. Can anybody tell me what dates spring break is in Miami? Thanks

    Hi Joey, scheduling your trip after the first week of April is recommended if you want to avoid spring break crowds and traffic. March is the busiest month for college spring breaks with some schools' calendars showing spring break in mid-Feb all the way through the first week of April. Many of the elementary and high school calendars have their breaks the first week of April. If you visit Miami and want a diversion from the city, traveling to the Florida Keys which is nearby is a great option. Well Joey around that time frame is Spring Break. In April the grade school children are on break. There is also Miami Dade County Youth Fair around the same time frame. So it will be busy! Miami Beach is a busy area on its own, but it won't be as bad as you think with the college kids. They usually go to other beach cities...... Are you interested in a cruise? Maybe if you are having doubts, check out the cruise lines which leave out of the Port of Miami. Maybe you would have more fun that way. Key West is also another option, Naples, Marco Island and even Port Charlotte. Those are nice, beautiful places to visit. Its only 1.5-3 hrs away from miami, u may want to rent a car a drive..... Hope you enjoy your vacation.
