Why are all the restaurants closed on V day?

We arrive in Miami ON Xmas day. Will we find any restaurants open, or are they all closed for Xmas, or booked

  • for special (private) parties? What about shops and restaurants the rest of the days between Xmas and new Year??? Thank you.

    Many restaurants will be closed on Christmas day...if you can provide info on where you are staying, perhaps we can come up with a list of what is close by so you can check with the specific restaurants. As far as the days between Christmas and New Years, virtually everything is open....you might find a few little mom and pop kind of businesses that just close for the week, but they are not the norm.

Some closed; some open. Many on South Beach -- including just about all that are in hotels will be open. The only days when most retail shops will be closed are Christmas & New Years day.

You will find restaurants open during the holidays. However, you may find that getting a table without a reservation an impossibility. I would suggest calling now to the places you would like to patronize to see if you can make a reservation. Good Luck

Usually the restaurants in the hotels will be open. Check with your hotel.
