Where's a good/safe place to live in miami?

i'm planning on moving there to go to miami dade community college but i'm a little intimidated by the stereotypes that have been giving to miami. i just dont want to be afraid to walk to my car at night from school or anything like that. :) i have a friend from north miami and he said no matter what never to go up there and deff dont go to little haiti, but idk where a good place to look for houses is..?

lol. every city has its bad area and its good ones. miami has its good areas like... down south; coral gables. kendall. pinecrest. palmetto bay. cherry grove. but also has its bad places up north like; allapattah. little havana. little haiti. liberty city. brownsville. it isnt like youre gonna get mugged. unless you mess with soemone you really wont have any problems.

Yeeeah people over rate Miami. The people who say that are in the Ghetto. The chica up top answered it for you for neighborhoods. Also avoid overtown , Opa Locka. It is nice here. Of course you need to be on guard when going to your car at night. It is a big city hunn. Good Luck
