How populated is Naples?

Move to Miami or Naples?

  • I plan to relocate in the next year or so, and I've always wanted to move to Miami. As I was doing a bit more research, someone said Naples would be a good alternative to Miami. Here's a bit of info about me. I love the beach, and I hear Naples beaches are prettier and less crowded than Miami. I work in Geriatric field; obviously I work with the elderly, so I would like to go where there is a good job market. I know Miami's cost of living is high, but I don't know too much about Naples. I'm not too worried about the crime in Miami (I live in St. Louis, it's pretty bad here too honestly) but it would be nice to live somewhere that isn't on the top crime list. I read that Naples isn't as crowded as Miami as far as tourism, and they are only two hours from each other. Any suggestions...

    Other than the weather the two cities are very different. Naples is small, very quiet, very upscale and very, very expensive. Miami is . . . . . well, kind of everything. If you're under 50, you want Miami.

I am in area frequently, upscale, pristine, plenty of elderly facilities. Naples it not known for party city, like Miami. The gulf of Mexico, where Naples is on, I live also three hours north, perfection. Also alot cleaner, laws strictly enforced. My choice, Naples, leaving on, 10/31/11, enjoy.

Well, I don't know about people being stuck up and snobby in Miami, but it is expensive and 75% of the residents speak Spanish as their primary language. You might feel like a foreigner. And many areas of Miami are crime-ridden due to the influx of immigrants that play by different rules. You would need to be very careful about where to settle down in Miami. You could consider any of the many cities north of Miami...all the way up the coast to Port St. Lucie. The whole area is packed, but many areas north of Miami are less expensive (not much less) and safer.
