What is the largest cruise ship in the Philippines?

I have been offered a job in Royal Caribbean a cruise ship which requires me to pay 100$ for working visa.?

  • Royal Caribbean a cruise ship offered me a job but they require me to pay a 100$ for the processing of my working visa. They did not require me to submit the originals but the they said that was their policy that I just submit the scan documents and later they will ask me of the originals once I am in the USA. I had doubts about it. Is this a scam or not? Isnt it that the immigration requires originals before processing a visa? I am in the Philippines now and I had doubts if I would pay or not.

  • Answer:

Have you been interviewed in person? If you have not met the people you will be working for, Save your money. It would seem to me that if you have a work Visa already, why would it cost money for them to process it? You are correct. I have never heard of a business accepting copies of anything. I live in the USA. Years ago only 1 ID was required. Lately all employers need 2 specific ID's. NO copies. They want to see the original. It would seem to me that Visa's would work the same way. It is way too easy to "whiteout" info on an original or copied document and then change it to say what you want. Photocopy the changed paper and you can't see the "whiteout" where changes were made. Go with your gutt feelings. be careful

It sounds kinda weird to me - I got a working holiday Visa once and I applied directly to the embasy and it was FREE! Anyway... I don't think there is such a thing as an American Holiday Visa! You should check with the American Embassy in yr country. They will be able to tell you the correct answer. Don't pay any money before you know for sure. Good luck.

That's like a company that wants to hire you demanding that you pay for the drug test they require. It certainly does not sound legit to me. I would not pay the $100.00

If they require a working visa, you must get this document from INS. Their website is here: http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm You may look for an office in your country also - click on "Services Field Office Addresses and Information", then click on "Overseas Offices". Most US companies must require a work visa to hire you, and this does cost some money, but you usually pay it to INS. The company might be offering to help you with work visa - ask them for a letter showing "intention to hire you", which you can take with you to INS office.
