What to do the day before and after cruise from Port Canaveral?

Need hotel near Carnival cruise port in Miami Fl?

  • Want to arrive 1 day early for cruise would like a nice hotel but not expensive..Any suggestions? Does any one no the name of the port. Maybe they have add on packages available like Port Canaveral.

    The Florida Everglades Hotel is gone and it is called the Port of Miami. I live right down the street from the port and there are some good hotels around biscayne blvd and 17th st. Search "downtown Miami" at any of the hotel search sites. Check South Beach too. It is a very short ride. Just stay in the lower numbered streets.

You don't want a have a hotel near the cruise ship port. It's a rough area. I think the port is called Port of Miami. You can buy add ons from your cruise line. They include hotels, tours, etc.. They cost more but they are usually more convenient and of high quality.

I've stayed at the Everglades Hotel downtown and found it reasonable and nice. Its a close ride to the ship by cab. And its close to Bayside as well. Bon voyage.
