How can I see all the things I want to see in Los Angeles?
-
I'm going to be in LA for two days and I want to see quite a few things while I'm there. I will have a rental car, but I don't want to take the starline tour because I've heard quite a few negative things about it. Also, the things I want to see are spread out over two tours and I don't have enough money for two tours for two people. Here are the things I want to see: - Chinese Theatre - Guitar Center, "Rockwalk" - Sunset Strip - Beverly Hills - La Brea Tar Pits - LACMA - Melrose Ave - Paramount Studios - Universal Studios - The Getty Museum/ Getty Villa - Santa Monica and/or Venice Beach - Disney concert hall - Santa Monica Pier - Ave of the Stars - Chinatown - Olvera St - Los Angeles Theatre - Staples Center Finally, what is the best place to see the Hollywood sign from? I've heard you can't see it due to all the smog... So, is there anyway to organize all of these places so that I can see everything within two days? I'm willing to take out visiting Santa Monica and/or Venice Beach and the Santa Monica Pier, if that would help make sense of my itinerary. Thank you for all the answers.

Answer:
Hate to say this, but that's just too much for two days. 1 day: Chinese Theater Walk of Fame (not Avenue of the Stars), adjacent to the Chinese Theater Melrose Ave Paramount Studios Tar Pits LACMA (right next to the tar pits) The Grove/Farmer's Market Canter's Deli Guitar Center/Rock Walk And I doubt you could do all those in a day! Another Day Beverly Hills/Rodeo Drive Sunset Strip Getty Museum Santa Monica Pier/Venice Beach Another Day Disney Concert Hall Nokia Theater/LA Live Olvera St Staples Center Universal Studios Looks like 3 full days. You could do them all in 2 days, if you spend about 5 minutes at each.

If you're looking at car hire maybe you could try Lynx Car Hire? Thought I'd recommend them because I've used them a lot lately and they are pretty good. Prices are great too. Good luck!

The places you have mentioned are way more that you can visit in the duration of two days. Also you need time at one place or just need to touch and go. http://www.frommers.com/destinations/losangeles/0014020790.html here is the itinerary for two day. I think it better if you enjoy the places you can cover easily rather than rushing here and there. As far as hiring a car goes you can hire from following reputed companies like:- http://www.pointcarhire.com/ hertz usacarsrental Thrifty

You're going to be here only 2 days and you're willing to lose Venice or Santa Monica but not the Tar Pits? I don't know where you're coming from but I guess it's already near a beach. In 2005 my nephew and his wife tried to see as much as they could in a short amount of time and regretted not choosing fewer things to see. Just the Getty alone would take a morning or afternoon -- two hours at the minimum. And all that driving through traffic. I'd say pare the list down some.
