How much time shoud be allowed to visit the getty museums in the la area ?

we want to visit both the museum and the villa can this be accomplised in one day ?

Answer:
If you really want to enjoy the museums, it would be tough to do both in one day. Maybe on Saturday when the Getty Center is open until 9 pm, you could go to the Villa first (closes at 5 pm), and then the Center. It's about a half hour drive between the two. I've spent days from opening to 5:30 pm closing at the Center. Even with kids on field trips and specific artwork to see, moving quickly, we were still there for over 4 hours. If you just like to walk through museums quickly, you could do both during regular hours in one day, but you'd likely miss a lot. You need to get timed advance tickets for the Villa. http://www.getty.edu/visit/ Enjoy!
