Would you rather live in Penticton BC or Armstrong BC?

Where would you rather live: Richmond, BC or Calabasas, CA and why?

  • I know they're not in the same country but from what I know British Columbia and California are both on the west side and pretty close. Calabasas is an affluent city in Los Angeles County. It is located in the southwestern San Fernando Valley and the Santa Monica Mountains. It is a very wealthy area in the greater Los Angeles area, A lot of celebrities and people in the film business live there, also lawyers and other high paying job residents. Many gated communities and mc Mansions and mansions. Clean and beautiful area, very little crime. Average salary for jobs in Calabasas, California is $66,726, and the median income of households in Calabasas was $93,860. Population of 22,095 people. Richmond is a coastal city, incorporated in the Canadian province of British Columbia. Part of Metro Vancouver, its neighbouring communities are Vancouver and Burnaby to the north, New Westminster to the east, and Delta to the south, while the Strait of Georgia forms its western border. Richmond is the location of Vancouver International Airport, and the Richmond Olympic Oval was a site for speed-skating events during the 2010 Winter Olympics. I don't know much about this area but from What I hear it is one of the nicest and expensive areas in British Columbia. Population of 165,000 people. I don't know the average salary but 65-75 K is a livable salary for people that live there. Where would you rather live and why?

I would live almost anyplace in Canada before living in CA. I live in the USA where I do only because I can afford to live here. If I had the funds to do so I would move back to Canada and Ontario in a NY minute! Note I said "back" because I lived in Ontario Canada for some 7 years and love it there; I just can't afford to live there on my retirement.

calabasas isn't that great. just a bunch of houses stuck on a wooded hill far from everything. it's not like an actual town or anything, what do they have, a petsmart and a ralphs?

If those were my ONLY options, I'd choose Calabasas. I'd likely get taxed to death in either jurisdiction, so I might as well have some warm weather in the process.

No. They are NOWHERE NEAR close. Plus, why Richmond and why Calabasas? I'd prefer North Carolina.

Calabasas! Why? It is in California.
