Has anyone been whale watching in Southern California before? If so, where at?

I would also like to know the experience and what you saw and the name of the place you went to whale watch. Thank you!

I went whale watching from Dana Point. I normally don't like going out on the water because I get motion sickness really easily, and I sometimes need to take dramamine, but the ride was short enough and I made it. If I remember correctly, it's either 1 hour, but it might be 2 hours total. The boat takes you a little bit of a way out, throws anchors, and sometimes you see whales. Obviously, you don't get a refund if there aren't any. Usually, you'll stay out there for a while, maybe 20 minutes or a half hour.
