Where is a good place to camp, on the beach, in Southern California? Planning a family reunion, need space!?

    The best two places are near Santa Barbara: Carpinteria, which is my favorite campground in SoCal, and El Capitan State Beach. Of the two, Carp is the more family-friendly. You also have San Clemente State Beach in the OC, as well as Doheny State Beach. However, San Clemente is up on the bluffs, and those stairs can get tiresome, and Doheny doesn't have group sites. camping isnt allowed on any southern califnria beaches unless you are in a RV then dockweiller would be one

HI! Its not my favorite place to camp, just because theres no electricity or showers, and your stuck between the freeway and train, but the ocean is right there, a 5 minute walk. Its Emma Woods State Park in Ventura. It has a big open space for group camping, its fun though if you have so many people, we went with 5 families from church and had a blast last year, just with all the activites we planned and all the food. Check it out though you may like it! Also I am interested in going to Casitas Camping Place, I am not sure if its Lake Casitas, but I will find it and leave it for you here at the bottom,Good Luck,,Have fun!!
