Which area in Los Angeles is better?

Relocating to Los Angeles Area, which areas are good and which ones are bad?

  • I can live anywhere within a 2 hr commute to LA. I have 2 children and don't know anything about the area as far as living there is concerned.

  • Answer:

You can live in Corona and take the metrolink to Los Angeles. Not so expensive and not so bad.

Look at the areas called Belmont Shores, Belmont Heights, Seal Beach, and Huntington Beach. You can also look at Long Beach near the water (not inland). Another area, but more pricey, is Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach. Nice areas, but perhaps beyond your budget. Four bedrooms is an unusually large apartment for Southern Cal, so your options will be limited. Will you consider a rental house? You will find a lot of houses along the I-405 corridor that connects LAX with Costa Mesa. I don't know the San Fernando Valley, but I'm sure you can find something there too.

You need to know, so called" nice area" is very expensive, a 2 bedroom apt may go up $2000 month, so it is better to live in an average area, that is east side LA or San Bernatino area along freeway 10.
