Interestingly, I make the commute from Brea to Century City every day. It's a killer. Now that it's summer, I can do it some days in about an hour. Longest: 3.5 hours. Sucks the life right out of you. Alternate: Take the Metrolink to Union Station, Red Line Subway to Wilshire/Western, then the 720 or 920 bus to CC. However, you have to leave by 5PM SHARP to make it to Union Station before the last metrolink train leaves at 6:30. Otherwise, you have to wait two hours for the 8:30 Amtrak.

You'll go nuts in two weeks. Edit to Add: To dfwteddy - I don't care what google maps says, there is NO time of day that that drive can be done in less than an hour. Freeway time almost any time of the day will be 1-1/2 to 2 hours, and early morning/late afternoon longer. And there is that 3-4 mile drive between the Santa Monica Freeway and Century City - that alone takes up to 15 minutes most times of the day.

Only you can answer that question. It is a 44 mile drive. No traffic 55 minutes, but 2 hours and 20 minutes in traffic.

Impossible. No way.
