How can I have a nursing license in California?

Best nursing school for LVN license in California?

  • I live in southern california. What are the best schools besides community colleges, for LVN? I am in san bernardino county, but I would be willing to go to OC or LA County. Also, I am confused about the difference between the certificate or the degree. Can I get a degree as an LVN instead of a certificate? What is the diference as far as getting employment afterwards. What schools offer degrees and how long does it take fulltime. I know I have a lot of questions, sorry. I am trying to figure this whole thing out. I am in my forties so I don't want to be in school too long. Any information would be so helpful. Thanks!

  • Answer:

Check out Loma Linda University. That's probably the best bet in your area. LVN is a nursing certificate. RN is a higher level certificate. A degree, such as a Bachelor's degree, generally takes 4 years, and can generally be obtained concurrently with your nursing cert. Check out Loma Linda's program.
