Where can i get California guard card in San Francisco?

I am looking to get my guard card in California...?

  • I am looking to get my guard card in California... does anyone know cheap places for basic guard training(mandatory courses)and where it wouldn't take me that long to get. in or around the Baldwin Park, ca area is highly preferred.Thanks.

    You must obtain a California guard for the BSIS if you intend or are working a security position in which you come in contact with people. You can obtain a California Guard Card by completing an online course through the National Security Enforcement Training Center's website www.nsetc.com or attending one of their live trainings. Basic security positions in Orange County and San Diego County start at $11.00+ and can go as high as several hundred dollars an hour doing executive protection commonly known as bodyguard work or working federal government contracts abroad and locally. Laid back positions are available but it all depends on your post, working a concert is not going to be as laid back as letting people into a gated community or secure workplace. The great thing about security is that you will always be able to find a job, I've seen officers employed the same day the apply. With the current economy the private security industry has boomed and will continue to boom as the economy worsens

Call any guard service. They can direct you to the places that offer the state required training and classes. Don't forget you also have to pay for the state license. I believe they are about $50 a year now. In most cases you will find this very lonely, boring work. More often than not you will be at a post all alone all night long, and often the person that is to relieve you is late showing up. Been there, done that many years ago. Remember this one concept. You are there "To observe, and report". That is all.
