Is the EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) in a safe part of LA?

  • So this year I really want to go to EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) with some of my friends. But I live all the way down in San Jose and im only 17. Shes trippin about if the area is around EDC is safe or not Is it in a safe part of downtown LA? Are there any creepers there lol? I think ill be fine but you know how moms are....

    WTF? You must be kidding. It's by the Coliseum, which is NOT the safe part of downtown. Plenty of homeless, creepers, drug dealers, etc. BUT, with that being said, there's a LOT of police presence. I think the biggest thing you have to worry about is your car being broken into (whoever has the crappiest car should drive), or OD'ing on some exotic drug. It's funny how you change as you get older. If they had had one of these when I was 17, I would have gone in a heartbeat. BUT, I was born and raised in LA, and didn't have to drive from San Jose. As a parent, I'd be VERY concerned if my kid was going to EDC in LA. I'd want someone a little older and responsible kind of watching over the group. I'd want them to have a cell phone at all times, and to NEVER accept anything that you put in or on your body (food, drink, tattoos, etc). There are always a few people that OD at these events, but the majority seem to have a lot of fun. It would just suck if your kid was one of the ones who OD'd. But life is full of risks, and I'm pretty sure this isn't any worse than anything I ever went to as a young person. Anyways, I'm not yer daddy. But do be VERY careful while having fun. Your parents want you back in one piece, the same way you left.

Eh I can't really say its safe cuz your gona be surrounded by all these rolllliiing mutherfckerss! &if your not into E then you won't like that enviroment lol E's alright though feels supa bombbut its bad=( Anyways haha your gona be inside the coliseum(sp) so im sure you'll be fine Just stick with friends &avoid people who look tooooo fcked up :)

yeah it's a safe area. but if you're worried about safety. there's going to be a lot of people at edc doing drugs mainly ecstasy and they're probably going to offer you some whether to buy or have for free. and there's usually a few overdoses. don't accept anything from anyone. my friend was given a water bottle laced with ecstasy. another friend got stabbed by a hypo. (which I think is really funny actually...Lol)

Downtown isn't safe. just be with your friends at all times even inside the colessium. Don't get rides with anyone you don't know and be careful walking around LA. Just be alert, you should be fine.

in my opinion if your worried about anything like that you really shouldn't be going to a rave... just stay with your friends and don't take ANYTHING from ANYONE.. other than that RAVE ON !! :)

Bring pepper spray and just don't eat too much candy. Keep as level a head on your shoulders, stick together and you will be fine. Also, get candy from someone you trust - not at EDC.

i just askd the same question.not really im wanna knw if the concert is alctually good...lol..but its not that safe in the area..i mean its LA..your not gnna get mugged or anything but there are weridos around so just be careful..when your outside the colliesum..since its gnna be in the la colliesum..your gnna be safe if u stay inside cuz i remember when i usd to live in that area there were police all around the area.its a busy street..so theres lots of light...tell ur mom you will be ok..you just gotta make sure you watch out for urself and u friends..k..good luck..
