Can the disneyland summer pass be used towards a new disneyland pass?

Is it possible to use someone else Disneyland Hopper pass?

  • A friend is selling a 1-day hopper, which originally was a 3-day Disneyland Resort Summer Fun Pass 3 Day Park Hopper. The back says must be resident, show ID, & must be used by the same person. But they said that on their visit no ID was required & they're not residents. Wondering if anyone else has done this or has a # for Disneyland? It's like a credit card material pass. Thanks so much

  • Answer:

The Summer Fun Passes are not fingerprint encoded or attached to the first user by any other means (photo, signature, etc). Yes, you can use the pass PROVIDED it hasn't expired yet. If your friend used it over 45 days ago, then the remaining day is no longer valid. You will not be asked for ID or any other verification at the gates.

A few years ago (ok, 8 years ago), I used my sister-in-law's pass and didn't have any problems. They didn't even look at the name. The worst that can happen is that they will look at the name and ask to see your ID. You can feign that you left your ID at the hotel room, and hope that they let you in. If that doesn't work, come back a few hours later when they have different ticket people.

Here's the deal: Those summer fun passes are a great deal. First use was supposed to be by Aug 23, and they expire after 45 days. They sold those plastic passes at Ralph's, Vons, etc, where they were SUPPOSED to check ID. But none of them did. And they aren't checking at Disneyland, either. So while you're not SUPPOSED to be able to give it to someone else, and you're SUPPOSED to be a resident, it's not being enforced at all. I went to Disneyland a dozen times this summer, and NEVER saw anyone asked for ID with those tickets. So go have fun.

If the pass was never used, yes. But, if the pass was already "activated" then, no. Disney takes your finger prints once you put your pass in the turn stile. Disney has it's way of stopping people from being dishonest. You can be banned from Disney. It's happened before...

If it has been used then please don't buy it. Disney would gladly appreciate you respecting their rules and you don't want to spend money that will be wasted. Instead, buy a pass for yourself or a annual pass.
